Local gardener and author Gerry Maguire Thompson talks about his wild garden in Shoreham and introduces his recent book, ‘Rewilding An Urban Garden: An Illustrated Diary of Nature’s Year’.
The book was written over the period of a year during lockdown when the author was ill with Covid, recording the amazing variety of wildlife that have been attracted to inhabit or visit this small but rich wildlife refuge.
Gerry will talk about the benefits that come from urban rewilding – to the human resident, to local biodiversity, to one’s carbon footprint and indeed to the planet.
Gerry is also a volunteer at the Knepp Wilding project. He will be happy to answer questions and hear about other people’s experiences. Signed copies of his book will be available to purchase.
