Lewis Crathern, 4 x World Champion Kitesurfer, tells us what he loves about his home town Worthing…
As I grew up in Worthing, I never dreamt that I would become a professional sportsman involved in a sport that was not yet even developed. Even better, that my home town would become recognised as the Capital of the sport, The Kitesurfing Capital of the UK!
Fourteen years after I first picked up a kite, I am still 100% passionate about Kiteboarding. It has taken me all around the world but still my favourite place is here in Worthing. It is very important for me to base myself where the wind is consistent and there is good access to the ocean. That’s why I’ve never left!
My coaching clients love visiting me here for lessons as well. Don’t take it just from me though! Sarah L – “I love coming to Worthing, the beaches are perfect for kitesurfing and the free parking on the seafront is ideal.”
I also like what the town has to offer on the non windy days as well. I love to longboard along the seafront, go for a jog or meet friends in town for a drink. There is something here for everyone!
