Richard Biddle and Claire Lemmon are both artists and educators. They have a shared interest in disturbing, discovering and disrupting the conventional and formulaic qualities of language and meaning. For this show, they have come together to explore these elements.
Claire is a newly exhibiting artist constructing highly patterned, colourful, dynamic line drawings with a playful, chord-like quality. She is interested in abstraction, detail and systems of thought.
Richard has a fascination with words and their meanings and how through play these can be subverted to reveal humour and contextually political statements. His work also embodies abstraction, mistake and asemic space.
