Author and historian Colin Grant is also Director of WritersMosaic, an online platform for new writing from a mosaic of literary voices and cultures across the UK. In this special live event as part of Shoreham Wordfest, Colin will be in conversation with Yvonne Bailey-Smith about her first novel, The Day I Fell Off My Island. Her book tells a story of reluctant immigration and the relationship between children and the people who parent them. Yvonne was born in Jamaica, coming to the UK as a teenager and is now a psychotherapist and former social worker, following on from daughter Zadie’s successful writing career. There will also be readings and performances from other WritersMosaic authors and poets, including some from Colin’s own work. This is a partnership event between Shoreham Wordfest, Writing Our Legacy and WritersMosaic.
