Family Workshop: Traditional Bramble Basket Weaving

A chance to try something different. How about a new skill using foraged brambles from the woods to weave a simple basket shape. This is such an ancient craft of using woodland and hedgerow brambles to weave baskets.

In this weaving workshop for beginners we will be using de-thorned Brambles ready to weave into a delightful basket and you will learn how and when to harvest, de-leaf, de-thorn and sort lengths ready for weaving on your own.

All materials will be provided. Please bring a pair of gardening gloves.

We are thrilled that the Museum is able to open its doors and welcome visitors back to see amazing new exhibitions, permanent collections and our Summer Season of Workshops! These family workshops offer you and your children the unique opportunity to get up close to artefacts, ask questions and create something amazing!
