Worthing Seafront Walks

Worthing perfect for walking. If you are looking for an opportunity to get out in the fresh air  – Worthing’s flat, wide open prom is accessible to all.

Distance / times of walks are calculated as starting from the pier.

Heading East

Depending on how hearty you are feeling a short stroll down to the East Beach might suffice.

Alternatively stride out further east out past the fishing boats and onwards. If you don’t fancy the walk back you can easily hop on the 700 bus (every 10 mins with regular stops along the A259 coast road).

To Lancing: It should take you around 45 mins to walk the 3.8km along to Lancing   – the route follows the coast. Located right on the beach The Perch is a popular stop off on the beach and works well for all ages.

To Shoreham-by-Sea: from Worthing  – it will take you around 1 hour 45 minutes to walk 8.2km to Shoreham. There are some great independent shops to explore and a good choice of pubs, restaurants and cafes.

Heading West

It will take you about an hour to walk along to Sea Lane Cafe in Goring. The promenade is wide in this direction and passes the Waterwise Playground (about 25 minute walk) – a great playground on the beach. Onwards to the end of the prom and then along next to the beach huts, this peaceful route avoids roads. Please note the last section adjacent to the beach huts is currently shingle so may not be so suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. An alternative accessible route can be used along Marine Crescent. Goring by Sea station is a 25 minute walk away from the seafront.
