The Flour Pot Bakery

THE FLOUR POT BAKERY WAS BORN OUT OF OLIVER HYDE’S DESIRE TO CREATE FOOD THAT WAS LOVINGLY MADE WITH SKILL AND PASSION BY PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE.  Oli spent his formative years working as a chef and later, established Juniper, an exclusive outside catering business. It was during this time that he learned the vital importance of using only quality ingredients and treating them with respect.

Along the way he also spotted a gap in the Brighton and Hove market for bread made using these fundamental principles. “There were plenty of bakeries around at the time but none of them were producing the kind of bread I wanted to feed my family. I just knew that if we could produce the kind of bread I’d been dreaming of people would come along for the ride.” Our second location in Worthing is just a stone’s throw from the seafront. We’re located on Brighton Road, moments from Splash Point and Worthing Pier. Our terrace is perfectly placed to catch an early morning coffee, lunch with friends or afternoon tea.

Although the basic ingredients for bread have always been the same, what sets great bread apart from the mediocre is the skill and passion that goes into producing it and our bakers have both of those things in spades.

Their bakers are not the only artisans in the business though. The chefs in our production kitchen have years of experience from every corner of the restaurant and catering sectors and produce an ever-changing range of handmade sweet and savoury products with the same level of passion and commitment as our bakers. The team produces freshly cooked and baked cakes and savouries every morning for Flour Pot customers.
