Heene Cemetery

The cemetery has burials of 1,961 between 1873 and 1977. A small group of the Friends is researching the family histories and documenting their stories on this website. Many of the buried were famous in their lifetime, but all the stories shape our social history.
In addition, the cemetery is a designated Local Wildlife Site. A citizen-science project supported by a network of specialists is also documenting this rich biodiversity. Over 500 species have so far been identified
