Amplified is a platform for young creatives, aged 12 to 22, to express themselves through spoken word, poetry, music and performance. Listen to what a group of creatives have to say on stage, each taking their turn on the mic for up to 5 minutes. Hosted by Young Writers Collective (Little Green Pig) and AudioActive, Amplified performers have been preparing to take to the stage in workshops over the past 5 weeks, with mentoring and leadership from Louie LeVack, Suhayla El-Bushra and others. Amplified is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
Hosted by Louie LeVack who will also give a guest performance. Join us to celebrate the performers' journeys from a blank page to live on stage. creatives. Be part of the audience who gets to hear these stories debuted on stage. A free event and everyone is welcome* for what is sure to be a dynamic and powerful show.
Amplified allows young creatives the opportunity to express what they want to say, however they want to say it .Amplified performers will share stories ranging from experiences growing up to their relationship with the stage. Plus expect poems and raps about identity, family, hopes and fears.
There will be a British Sign Language interpreter throughout the event. The event takes place on the ground floor of AudioActive Worthing and there are accessible toilets and all gender toilets on the ground floor available. The Beats N Eats cafe will be open to serve refreshments, hot drinks and soft drinks with money going to support the venue.
