Mel Elston-Mendones returns to Colonnade House, with his first solo exhibition for over a decade.
A member of the UNESCO affiliated, International Association of Visual Artists (IAVA), Mel has established himself on the international art scene in recent years, winning awards in Canada, Spain and Belgium.
His work has been shown and is in private collections across the world in places such as Spain, The Philippines, The Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, Italy, The United States of America, Monaco, Switzerland and Argentina. It has been exhibited in prestigious venues including Art Basel (June 2023), Mall Galleries (November 2022), La Castellana, Madrid (December 2022) and in Venice during the Biennale (May 2022). Public works have been displayed in New York, on Broadway and Times Square, Los Angeles, Zurich, Switzerland and London. His work has been published in magazines and books, including one that resides in the National Library of Spain.
He currently has commercial gallery representation with an award winning gallery in Madrid, as well as in Granada, Berlin, Buenos Aires, New York & Miami.
This exhibition invites you to consider questions around the themes of home, identity, displacement and living in the diaspora.
