Julian Chan, Piano Soloist
Dominic Grier, Conductor
Virtuoso pianist Julian Chan returns to the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra to play Tchaikovsky’s ever-popular Piano Concerto No.1 in B-flat minor.
The concert begins with Beethoven’s dramatic Egmont Overture, part of his incidental music for Goethe’s play of the same name.
The evening concludes with Schumann’s Symphony No. 2 in C major, widely viewed as one of his greatest and most captivating works.
Also included is a work by the WPO's Composer-in-Residence, Ansel Chaloner-Hughes — a repeat performance of his Beethoven-inspired 'Florestan', last heard earlier in the 2024-25 season, which will serve as a gripping companion piece to the overture.
This concert is part of the 2025 Worthing Festival Fringe programme.
