Nora Young: A Part of Everyday

Colonnade House

A Part of Everyday
With Nora Young
Artists in a range of media

Being an artist in 2025.

A collection of recent and current work in a pop-up studio setting.

Mark-making describes the different lines, dots, marks, patterns and textures created in art work. These can be loose, gestural, controlled, or neat. Time will be spent collecting and making marks – marks that fascinate and come in all sorts of forms – line, colour, texture, composition, words, sounds, gathered moving through the world of everyday.

Where do these come from?

How can we better acknowledge the finding and collection of these as an important part of the creative process?

Then where do they lead?

These are the constant questions.

In the exhibition space, follow the journey of the marks through, drawings, portraits, life paintings, landscapes and abstracts. The artist will be mark-making inside and outside the gallery, ready to discuss her work.

There will be an opportunity to join Nora on a short stroll to the local fore-shore, collecting marks as we go. These will be taking place Thursday 10 July // 11.00 – 12.00 noon & Friday 18 July // 11.00 – 12.00 noon.

No booking necessary. Just come along – suitably geared up for the weather on the day. Meet outside Colonnade House where we will then walk to the shore.
